You wake in darkness, unsure whether your eyes are truly even open. Quickly feeling around your belt, a small flashlight nearly tumbles out of your fingers. Perfect for emergencies. Lighting your one beacon, the darkness almost seems to fight back against its flame. A lone torch against the night. You've only just now thought about where you might be. Or what might be lurking in the dark. Perhaps it would be best to leave.
